House dance comes from the underground club scene in Chicago and New York in the late 1980s. The dance has always been tight to the music and it is important to understand its cultural context rooted in African American and Latino Communities. During house dance classes we share main elements of the dance and stimulate freedom of expression to music with respect to the culture.

It’s a safe space to make mistakes. The teacher will guide you through essential foundations of house dance and touch of freestyle.

The class is open level, which means it is beginner friendly but should remain challenging for anyone on intermediate level. We expect you to be mindful of that. Come on time, open minded, ready to sweat and focused – please do not use your phone during the class.

Framed Freedom Lab is open to anyone who loves house music and wants to grow as a dancer within a group. Together we will hold each other accountable to our intention and reflect on what tools make us feel more free, creative, break our patterns, etc. We will exchange individually, in duos and in cyphers.

It’s a safe space to make mistakes. The host will not hold your hand but will hold you accountable to your mission and stimulate reflection. The lab will be hosted by Patty and local and international guests, announced on our instagram.

Please arrive on time during the stretch time. We will be setting our intention at 20:15. Come open minded and focused – please do not use your phone during this session. Active participation is necessary, this is not a class but a collective effort.
