He began his path within the commercial dance scene, first discovering movement through styles such as breakdance and popping. Over time, his practice evolved toward Hip-Hop freestyle and House dance, shaping a more personal and improvisational approach to movement. His journey led him through Flow Dance Academy in Paris, France, before settling in the Netherlands, where he is currently based in Rotterdam.

Karel’s work often bridges dance and filmmaking, creating spaces where improvisation, image, and narrative coexist. Through freestyle, he investigates how stories can emerge in real time, allowing the body to become both storyteller and archive of lived experience. Alongside his artistic research, he remains actively engaged in the freestyle battle scene, which continues to inform his movement vocabulary and creative process.

During his time at Nowhere, Karel will deepen his exploration of storytelling through movement by developing a dance piece that questions the relationship between Hip-Hop and House energies. In parallel, he will work on a personal film project exploring the dialogue between flamenco and hip-hop, reflecting on identity, heritage, and the intersections of cultures that shape his artistic path.
