Although we all deal with the theme of grief, there is still a taboo surrounding this topic. Whether it’s the loss of a job, a friendship falling apart, or the death of a loved one, grief is part of life. “To love is to grieve.” At Comfy, we want to address this subject in an accessible way. What is grief? What do we feel during such a grieving process? Do we all go through the stages of grief? Therapist and founder of The Journalclub, Maame will talk more about this during the sessions “Grace in Times of Grief” and provide you with the tool of journaling to help navigate grief.
Comfy Community is a non-profit community organisation focused on the prevention of mental health struggles for young adults. Through monthly ‘mental health walks’, events, workshops and online content they create a space where community thrives while keeping mental health at the heart of their mission.
Maame Hammond graduated as an Orthopedagogue from Utrecht University. After her studies she worked as a team leader ‘Youth’ at an organisation in Utrecht, she works as a therapist and in education. Maame is also the founder of The Journalclub. The common thread in her work is offering safety within which children, young people and (young) adults can find their way through daily life and everything that comes with it.
